Caged Bird Rescue works not only to ensure a safe and secure environment for birds, but one in which they are not distracted or bothered by the pressures in which domestication can place upon them. We believe birds deserve to live not stuck in a cage, but in an setting where they are free to mingle and socialise with other birds allowing their development, both physically and mentally, to flourish. And this has been proven to work through many of the birds we have taken in. Our volunteers have over 25 years experience dealing with all aspects of birds health, shelter, nutrition, disease and development. We provide only the best care for our birds. We do NOT rehome, sell or give our birds away. All our birds are given a home for LIFE. We cannot stress this enough! Please do NOT contact us requesting a bird. If you wish to learn more about Caged Bird Rescue and its work, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Future Products:Caged Bird Rescue runs on entirely on the unremitting efforts of our volunteers. Despite our best efforts, we are always struggling to improve the care given to our birds due to the lack of resources. You can help Caged Bird Rescue continue the work that it does. Please browse through the list on the left hand side of to see how you can support us. The money Caged Bird Rescue receives is used to: * Purchase a specially mixed feed for our birds * Provide heat and lighting for all our sanctuaries * Medical care when needed * We also hope to expand our sanctuary in order to increase the number of birds we can take in and help. If you wish support CBR in another way please do not hesitate to contact us.
Products offeredWe also will collect unwanted pet caged birds and collect them from your door free of charge. Caged Bird Rescue is an organisation run entirely by volunteers who work to provide a safe and secure environment for all types of caged birds. We are based in Great Manchester and receive birds predominantly from the North West. Our organsation was officially set up in July 2008 when the largest National Animal Rescue Authority in the UK approved our sanctuary. Our sanctuary holds all types of caged birds including macaws, cockatoos, parakeets, cockatiels, finches and many others. Our rescue has taken in birds with a variety of problems from the plucking of feathers to liver and kidney diseases. We are happy to take any bird; if you do wish to give a bird a good home take a look at what we can do for them. We regret that our aviaries are NOT open to the public. This is due to security reasons following several break-in attempts
